Orange-Wild (Citrus sinensis)
Family: Rutaceae
Origin: Dominican Republic
Process: Cold Pressed – Rind
Safety: Photosensitizing. Do not use on skin before going out in sun or tanning booth.
Description: The scent of the Wild Orange oil has a medium intensity, which smells very citrusy. I find its aroma much bolder than that of Sweet Orange. It is cold-pressed from the rind of the fruit and the oil is orange in color. Whether used in a diffuser alone or in blends, it’s aroma is very refreshing, uplifting and calming. Used in the perfume and food industries, most everyone is familiar with its sweet and refreshing citrus fragrance. Wild Orange blends well with almost any of the spice oils: Cinnamon, Nutmeg or Clove, also with Lavender and Frankincense.
The essential oil contains nerol, citral, limonene (87%), methyl anthranilate, among others.
